Wildlife in the Everglades

Winter is a splendid time to observe wildlife in the various habitats in the Everglades. During our recent trips into the Everglades, we have spotted many species of birds that make their home in either the upland, wetland, or the coastal habitats.

The American White Pelicans have arrived from Canada, Idaho, Montana, and the Dakotas. This unique bird has a nine foot wingspan and stands over four feet tall. We have seen these birds in the Ten Thousand Islands on our tours.

Other species seen on our tours include the American Wood Stork. The Wood Stork has been placed on the endangered list by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.

Many birds such as the American Bald Eagle, Ibises, Egrets, and Herons are seen on our tours from either the comfort of your seat or while we are in the various habitats.

We periodically see Whitetail Deer, Gray Squirrels, Wild Hogs, Coyotes, and we go into areas where the elusive Florida Panther ranges, as well as Black Bears.

We hope you will join us for a trip from Naples deeper into the Everglades.
